NAEYC Accredited Child Care
The Hays Area Children's Center offers year-round child care for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Additionally, we offer a summer program for school-age children. HACC is licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment KDHE and provides quality care to all children, including those with disabilities and/or chronic health conditions. Teachers have national Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials and are assisted with medical needs by a registered nurse.
There are many advantages to choosing the Hays Area Children's Center as your child care center. Services are guaranteed on a year round basis, as well as a highly qualified and experienced staff. Our classrooms are over-sized and well-equipped, and a balance between play and pre-academics is sought for. We also offer "home-cooked" quality meals, with a varied menu that meets the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) standards.
Our child care programs are accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the nations largest and most influential organization for early childhood educators. Child care is provided for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children. A combination of quality teacher-child interactions with a developmental approach to early child development makes HACC's child care program unique.

Child Care Classes
Infants
The infant room provides tender, loving care with a 1:3 teacher to child ratio in a state-of-the-art environment. Emphasis is on the child's schedule as development is nurtured.
Toddlers
Toddlers are introduced to a schedule that is flexible with child interests. Small and large-group activities emphasize developmental appropriateness as children explore their world. Adult to child ratios are 1:4.
Preschool
Preschoolers learn to explore their environment, interact with their peers and express their creativity through activity-based learning based on each child's level of development. Supporting multicultural learning and children with special needs, HACC believes children learn most when they are encouraged to explore and interact in their play. Adult to child ratio is 1:8.
School Age Program
This summer program provides child care for school-age children. Many fun activities are planned, including swimming, bowling, library visits, going to the movies and the park, putt-putt golf and tours of various restaurants, grocery stores and offices.
Staff provide a variety of activities and projects for the children to complete, including craft projects, educational games and learning about different cultures.
