Trike-a-Thon

Hays Area Children's Center sponsors a children's Trike-a-Thon during April. Children who attend HACC bring their trikes, bikes and strollers from home and ride, ride, ride! Pledges collected by the children go to the child's classroom, and the child's teacher uses her discretion to purchase new toys and supplies for the classroom The 2006 Trike-a-Thon was a great success, raising over $1400. The top pledge winner is recognized with their name engraved on the annual Trike-a-Thon trophy.

Rope 'Em Ride/5K Walk 'N Run

The 2008 Rope 'Em Ride will be May 3!

The 19th annual Rope 'Em Ride and 5th annual 5K Walk 'N Run was April 28, 2007. All funds raised from the event directly benefitted the center and the children.
The Rope 'Em Ride is for both the serious and recreational rider. Participants choose various distance options from five to 100 miles. SAG (rest) stops, containing snacks and water, are located throughout the routes. The ride leads cyclists on a tour of historical scenes in and around Hays. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided Saturday. Lodging at the Center is also provided with the registration fee.

The 5K Walk 'N Run was also April 28. Participants walked or ran the 3.1 mile route that began at the HACC, circles around the 183 bypass and back to HACC.

(The 2008 Rope 'Em Ride event will not include a 5K Walk 'N Run.)
