Healthy Start Home Visitor Program
Elaine Rupp, Healthy Start Home Visitor
The Healthy Start program provides education and support to pregnant women and families with a baby (birth through one year).
The program is designed to give children a healthy start in life and help you enjoy being a parent. Home visitors can also provide referrals to other community resources.

What a Home Visitor can do:
Make home visits before and after your baby is born
Answer questions about prenatal care and your postpartum recovery
Offer individualized support
Help you find community programs and resources to meet your needs
Assist you in finding physician care and referrals for health concerns
Provide breastfeeding consultation
Provide information on baby care, nutrition and immunization providers
Advise you what behavior to expect from your baby at various times during the first year
Provide information on home safety, including how to choose and use a child's auto safety seat
Help parents access car seats at lower costs
